Lime Dipping Sauce (Sốt muối tiêu chanh)
Lime Dipping Sauce (Sốt muối tiêu chanh) © kvalifood.com
One of the simplest Vietnamese dipping sauces: just salt, black pepper, and fresh lime juice. It’s clean, sharp, and goes with practically any grilled or fried seafood. The Vietnamese name literally means “salt pepper lime sauce.” You serve it in individual small dishes so each person gets their own.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp coarse black pepper
- 1 lime, quartered
- 4 side sauce dishes
Directions
- Place about ¼ tsp sea salt and ¼ tsp coarse black pepper into each of the 4 small sauce dishes.
- Squeeze one lime wedge into each dish.
- Stir to dissolve the salt.
Notes
- A classic pairing with grilled squid, prawns, or fried fish.
- The sauce is meant to be made fresh for each meal - it doesn’t keep.
